Express Parts of Routes 20/21 Explained

There have been questions about the EXPRESS parts of Routes 20 & 21. In this memo we will describe how this will work. The purpose of having the express sections are to improve the timing on these routes. We have made designated bus stops along the express sections of the route to avoid stopping at every corner and still provide adequate bus stop distances for passengers to get on or off at these locations.

The express sections are described below:

Route 20 - Weekday, Saturday and Sunday
Inbound
When traveling inbound from the Ithaca Bus Terminal - the route will turn right from State St. onto Fulton St., then left onto Green St.
For bus stops on the inbound trips from Enfield, we will make the normal bus stops and flag stops to Rte. 79 @ Warren Pl. - then the express section begins.
The next bus stops will be:
The Ithaca Bus Terminal
Green @ Meadow St. by Agway
Green @ Fayette St.
Green @ Commons
Then the route will proceed to Cornell making normal bus stops.

Outbound
When traveling outbound from the Seneca St. bus stop - the route will then turn left onto Albany St. stopping at the Salvation Army bus stop, then turning right onto State St. The route will then make normal bus stops on State St. and along the rest of the outbound trip.

Route 21 & 21S - Weekday, Saturday and Sunday
Inbound
When traveling inbound from Buffalo St. - the route will continue on Buffalo St. to Fulton St., then turn right onto Fulton St., then left onto Green St.
The inbound bus stops from Buffalo St. will be:
Buffalo at Fulton St. by Greenstar
Green @ Meadow St. by Agway
Green @ Fayette St.
Green @ Commons
Then the route will proceed to Cornell making normal bus stops.

Outbound
When traveling outbound from the Seneca St. bus stop - the route will continue on Seneca St. then turning right onto Taughannock Blvd, and proceed on normal route.
The next outbound bus stops on Seneca St. will be:
Seneca @ Albany St. by Shortstop
Seneca @ Fulton St. across Fulton St. in front of Greenstar
The route will proceed as normal making normal bus stops
