All Proposed Service Changes for Fall 2022
Due to staff shortages and supply chain challenges, TCAT is proposing a number of major service reductions for its Fall service period Aug. 22, 2022, through Jan., 21, 2023. This is a working list of changes only and will be modified. A finalized list will be published in August.
Per TCAT’s Fare Increases and Major Service Reductions Policy, a public hearing is required when there is “a reduction in the number of bus miles or bus hours to a distinct geographical area or corridor by 20% or more.” Red text represents proposed cuts meeting that threshold. Riders are encouraged to review the proposals listed below and contact TCAT with their feedback before the public hearing, being held virtually on Monday, August 15, 2022 from 5 pm – 6 pm. Route 10: Several trips cut: 7:20 am, 10:45 am, 2:40 pm, 3:00 pm, 3:20 pm, 3:40 pm. 4:00 pm, 4:20 pm, 4:40 pm, and 5:00 pm trips will not be running.
Route 11: Weekday: Service runs hourly all day. Most extra half-hour trips during AM and PM peak have been cut. Last trip departs Green St. at 9:05 pm and from College Circle at 9:19 pm. Saturday: Service ends earlier. Last trip departs Green St at 10:25 pm and from College Circ. Apts. at 10:39 pm. Sunday: First (9:08 am) trip cut. First trip leaves Green at 10:08 am and IC at 10:30 am.
Route 13: Weekday: Several trips cut as the result of linked trips being cut. Two trips run 30 min. and 1 hour later. Saturday: 4 Northbound and 3 Southbound Saturday trips cut. Sunday: 2 Northbound and 4 Southbound Sunday trips cut. Riders in Northside and Fall Creek neighborhoods can use Route 17.
Route 14: Weekday: First outbound trip runs ~ 5 min. earlier and is no longer express; trip will serve West Village. Sunday: Last trip cut. Last trip leaves Green at 7:00 pm and from the hospital at 7:35 pm. [Saturday service is the same.]
Route 14S and Route 15: No Changes.
Route 17: Numerous timing changes.
Route 20: Weekday: Mid-day trip cut: Trip departing Green at 10:00 and Enfield at 10:28 am has been cut. Saturday: Last Saturday trip will depart 30 minutes earlier. Sunday: NO Sunday service – Sunday trips have been cut.
Route 21: Weekday: Mid-day trip cut: Trip departing Green at Noon and Trumansburg at 12:33 pm has been cut. Saturday: Last trip departs 26 minutes earlier. Sunday: Second and third trip combined: 10:55 am trip cut and mid-day trip departs 50 minutes earlier. Last trip departs 20 minutes earlier. First trip departs 5 minutes later.
Route 30: Minor timing adjustments throughout schedule. Weekday: Last trip cut. Trip departing Green at 10:44 pm and ending at the mall will not run. 7:38 pm and 8:05 pm Inbound trips from mall added. Full trip added, departing Seneca @ 8:01 pm and from the mall at 8:43 pm. Saturday: Last Outbound-only trip not running. Last outbound trip will leave Green at 9:36 pm. Sunday: A few extra trips have been added.
Route 31: Last trip cut. Trip departing Gates at 10:15 will not be running. The last Outbound trip will depart Gates at 7:45 pm.
Route 32: Weekday: Same as spring, except route on Tower and associated timing same as summer. Sat & Sun: First trip starts from Northwoods and is Inbound only. First outbound trip leaves Green at 9:00 am.
Route 36: Outbound trip added at 6:35 am from Lake @ IHS to Lansing Town Hall. This trip returns to the Commons as a route 37. Noon trip departs Green Street 5 minutes earlier at 12:00 pm and 8 minutes earlier from Lansing Town Hall at 12:30 pm.
Route 37: First Outbound trip cut: Trip departing Green at 6:18 am to Lansing Town Hall will now run as a route 36. Route 36 will depart Ithaca High School at 6:35 am IHS to the Town Hall, via East Shore Drive.
Route 40: Weekday: First 2 trips start at Etna Mills and will not serve the Commons or Varna in the outbound direction. Second to last trip departs 5 minutes earlier. Saturday: Evening trip not running. Last trip leaves Green at 1:04 pm and Groton at 1:44 pm. See route 43 for drop-off only, evening service to Freeville and Groton. Sunday: Evening trip not running. Last trip leaves 25-30 minutes later and leaves Green at 1:30 pm and Groton at 2:15 pm. See route 43 for drop-off only, evening service to Freeville and Groton.
Route 43: Weekday: First trip starts on Route 13 @ Mineah Rd. and will not serve the Commons or Varna in the outbound direction. Saturday & Sunday: Last trip will be drop-off only after TC3 dorms, and will only serve Freeville and Groton if there are passengers onboard who request it. Saturday: First trip starts on Route 13 @ Mineah Rd. and will not serve the Commons or Varna in the outbound direction; Inbound departures are 5 minutes earlier. Sunday: First trip will not run.
Route 51: Weekday: Last Trip cut. Last trip leaves Seneca at 10:19 pm and from Eastern Heights at 10:50 pm. Timing changes: All trips depart 2-7 minutes earlier. All trips will serve both Eastern Heights and the Honness loop. Saturday: Last trip cut. Last Saturday trip leaves Seneca at 10:19 pm and from Eastern Heights at 10:49 pm. Saturday & Sunday: Timing changes: All trips depart 2-7 minutes earlier. All trips will serve both Eastern Heights and the Honness loop.
Route 52: Weekday: First trip cut. Trip departing Green at 6:02 am and Caroline at 6:24 am will not run. Saturday: Timing Changes: First trip is ~15 minutes later. Second trip is 25 minutes later. Sunday: First trip is ~15 minutes later. Second trip is 45 minutes earlier.
Route 53: First PM trip departs 2-3 minutes earlier.
Route 65: Weekday: 9 am trip cut. Mid-day trip will depart 2 hours earlier and will now depart Green at 11:15 am and from Hillview Terr. MHP. at 11:33 am. Saturday service cut. NO weekend service.
Route 67: Weekday: Early trip (departing Seneca at 5:42 am) that was cut for summer will not be reinstated. First trip will continue to leave Seneca at 6:35 am. Mid-day trip cut – trip departing Seneca at 11:05 am and from Newfield at 11:28 am will not run. Saturday: Last trip departs over an hour earlier. Sunday: Second trip departs 25 minutes later. Last trip departs 25 minutes earlier.
Route 77: Saturday & Sunday: First Lansing trip starts at the Lansing Town Hall rather than starting from the mall. First Etna trip has been cut. First trip to Etna now departs the mall at 9:00 am and from Creekwoods Apts. at 9:30 am.
Route 81: Service runs every 11 minutes after 9:39 am, rather than ever 9 minutes, resulting in 6 less trips.
Route 82: Frequency reduced to every 30 minutes, rather than every 15 minutes. Last trip departs East Hill Plaza at 6:45 pm.
Route 83: Route 83 will end one hour earlier, with the last trip departing Stewart @ University at 5:25 pm.
Route 90: Service ends earlier. Everyday: Last trip departs from Seneca at 10:38 pm and from RPCC at 10:57 pm. Minor timing adjustments on some trips.
Route 92: Monday – Saturday: Service ends earlier. Last trip departs from Hasbrouck at 10:30 pm and from Schwartz CPA at 10:46 pm. Saturday & Sunday: Service starts later in the morning. First trip departs Hasbrouck at 10:00 am and from Schwartz CPA at 10:16 am.
